Putin’s war is on everyone’s mind. That is why we as a company have decided to help those affected in Ukraine with a wide variety of aid campaigns:
German Red Cross
In a first step, we donate 50,000 euros to the German Red Cross, earmarked for Ukraine. After in-depth research and weighing up all the options, this is the most efficient way to support the organisations and people on the ground.
Private initiative
Managing Director and owner Klaus Hüttemann has collected essential donations in kind through a private initiative, which will then be transported to Romania via the Netherlands by Rabelink Logistics. The Group has also purchased urgently needed camouflage nets, which will also be transported to Ukraine via Romania by Rabelink.
Our own employees also experience the suffering
of the Ukrainians at first hand:
Warehouses directly on the border with Ukraine
Rabelink Logistics Romania operates two warehouses directly on the border with Ukraine. The warehouses in Halmeu and Sighetu Maramtiei are between 50 and 80 kilometres away from our branch in Circalau. Here, the employees are confronted with the suffering of Ukrainian refugees every day. Therefore, Rabelink Logistics Romania has decided to help the people in Ukraine: Thanks to a donation from the Rotary Club Baia Mare, hospital beds will be transported from Kassel to Sighetu Marmatiei.
Sorting donations
Furthermore, our Romanian Rabelink subsidiary has offered storage and logistics services to the Red Cross free of charge. Donations from all over Europe are sorted for the DRK, loaded onto pallets and later loaded into vehicles and transported to Ukraine. The first truck with food and blankets left for Kiev on 15 March.
Volunteer work
Five Rabelink Logistics employees spend additional weekends sorting three full trucks of donations together with volunteers from the Romanian Red Cross. In addition to the voluntary work, Rabelink Logistics Romania will also donate around EUR 5,000 to a charitable association.
