Building materials logistics: More than 50 years of experience

What is the most perishable goods to be transported? Many people think of foodstuffs. In fact, it is concrete. After just one hour, the important building material is hard and can no longer be processed. Conclusion: It has to be fast in building materials logistics. Perfectly timed production, optimised loading and transport plans as well as flexibility on the part of the logistics provider are elementary in the delivery of building materials. That’s why we develop customised transport concepts for the construction industry with trips timed to the minute and special equipment – such as silo vehicles. We have specialised in particular in the transport of dusty and free-flowing goods – but we are also at your side as a reliable partner for all other building materials, such as concrete, bulk goods and cement.

Precise delivery

We deliver to the plants of our customers in building materials logistics, sometimes three to four times a day, and feed directly into the production of the building materials. In this way, we save our customers storage capacity and ensure a smooth process.

Stock management

For our customers, we take care of monitoring their stocks. To do this, we use our modern IT infrastructure to provide timely information about necessary reorders.

Part of the process chain

A perfectly functioning supply chain is essential, especially in building materials logistics. As part of the process chain, we take responsibility for the smooth operation of our customers – every day anew.

Elskes: Half a century of concrete transport

For more than 50 years, we have been supplying the concrete plants of Elskes, one of the leading concrete companies in NRW. Three to four times a day, we transport raw materials from the quarries in the Ruhr area to the concrete producer’s production facilities. Logistical challenges are, on the one hand, the minutely timed delivery, because the raw materials are fed directly into production. This is not the only reason why the supply chain cannot tolerate any delays – the construction sites are also dependent on the precisely timed delivery of the liquid concrete. On the other hand, the seasonal fluctuations in the construction industry also demand a high degree of flexibility from us. Requirements that we have addressed individually in our longest customer relationship. Thus, we have been an integral part of the process chain of our partner Elskes for more than five decades.

Steel industry: Duisburg’s blast furnaces run with our help

A blast furnace usually runs in 24-hour operation. To ensure that this is the case, various raw materials have to be constantly supplied. This includes lime, which is needed for sinter production. We deliver this daily and thus contribute our share to the smooth operation of the blast furnace. With our logistics concept, we ensure stable silo stocks for our customers and take care of a secure lime supply even on weekends and holidays.
