Food logistics: Safe transport and storage of foodstuffs

That is why we have the appropriate certifications for the transport and storage of foodstuffs, which imply the highest quality standards. For more than 25 years, we have maintained this excellent quality in food logistics, which we recertify in regular audits. From transport to contract logistics to warehouse logistics, we take care of optimal shelf life and maximum freshness of your food.
Safe container handling
The greatest risks in food logistics include fungal infestation and vermin. Fumigated containers provide a remedy here, but can pose a risk to people’s health. We take care of gas measurement and venting according to appropriate safety standards.
Batch monitoring and best before date
With our high-performance IT, we can reliably trace product batches and monitor the best-before date. Fast retrieval actions as well as the first-in-first-out principle are thus guaranteed.
Intersnack: Food logistics from procurement to quality assurance
Everyone knows them and millions of people love them: the salty treats from Intersnack – chips, tortillas and nuts from the funny-frisch, ültje, Chio, Pom-Bär and Tyrrells brands. Our Dutch subsidiary Rabelink has been involved in the entire supply chain for many years. With our customised logistics services, we ensure the holistic optimisation of the value chain – especially for the foodstuff “nuts”. From procurement from the growing countries by air and sea freight to storage and transport to the European production facilities: Intersnack receives the efficient customised complete solution from a single source. This also includes the transport and storage of flavours and aromas as well as packaging materials to make everything ready for production.
Special efficiency extra: food laboratory integrated into our warehouse
To enable quality controls at the highest level directly on site, Rabelink set up new office space for Intersnack employees and a food testing laboratory directly at the warehouse. In addition, the nuts are measured on site by laser using a special system and sorted by quality class using air pressure before they are sent to the production facilities. In some cases, Rabelink even takes care of cleaning and packing the raw goods – a value-added service, at the end of which, of course, there is always the final quality inspection.
Food logistics: control and procurement of oil for all Intersnack plants
We are also active on the German side for the leading food manufacturer in the snack sector. We use special tank trucks to supply all of Intersnack’s European locations with food oils. In doing so, we monitor the company’s stocks and have developed our own IT tool to ensure transparency, in which the customer can view all oil quotas.
