Mourning for Wolf Hüttemann
The founding father of the HUETTEMANN GROUP, Wolf Hüttemann, has passed away at the age of 87. The trained lawyer laid the foundation stone of the group of companies in 1956 when he supplied two tippers to the flourishing coal and steel industry in the Ruhr area. With foresight and knowledge of human nature, adherence to principle and authority, he developed the family business further and manoeuvred it through difficult times, such as the structural change in the Ruhr region. He also succeeded because the protection of the company and the workforce were always more important to him than rapid growth and the greatest possible profit. At the same time, this caution never stopped him from pushing change and innovation or from following his nose for developments in the industry. With a central warehouse in Isernhagen, for example, he set up an outsourcing project for the Schwarzkopf company in 1989 that was ahead of its time. The same applies to his openness towards company investments, which today form the basis for the growth of the corporate group.
Wolf Hüttemann dedicated more than 50 years of his life to the company before his son Klaus Hüttemann took over the management. During this time, a small family business became the globally active HUETTEMANN GROUP. And although he was no longer operationally active in the past decade, Wolf Hüttemann nevertheless followed this development closely and helped to ensure that the company’s continued existence is secured even after his death.
