M + F SPEDITION & LOGISTIK EXPANDS WAREHOUSES
For M + F Spedition in Dorsten, the year 2021 is all about reconstruction: two halls are being renovated, rebuilt and expanded.
In April, the first hall on the site in Dorsten was enlarged from 2,700 square metres to a further 500 square metres and extended by four loading bays. The expansion made it possible to increase productivity considerably in a short time. The newly gained space enables optimal pre-picking and a high volume throughput. In addition, uncomplicated loading and unloading at ramp height is now possible. “We can now carry out better control and pre-picking. Orders can already be prepared for the next day and the fleet can be planned better,” says Oliver Serfas, branch manager of M + F Spedition in Dorsten. An improvement that can be seen, because previously the hall only served as a storage area.
Since October, the second construction phase has been underway: the old truck wash at the M + F Spedition site in Dorsten is being converted into a transshipment warehouse. Equipped with four additional roller shutter doors, the hall is also being extended by a total of 300 square metres. In the future, daily plant disposal, reloading and preparation of shipments nationwide and to the Netherlands will take place here. Thanks to the extension of the hall, completion and storage can now be carried out quickly and efficiently, regardless of the weather. The conversion work is scheduled for completion at the beginning of November.
The Huettemann subsidiary delog Logistics has grown to M+F Spedition, which is part of the Huettemann Group, as of January 2020. “The accretion allows us to exploit synergy potential between the two subsidiaries, strengthen the M+F brand and broaden our industry focus,” says M+F managing director Çetin Çelik. The name M + F Spedition stands for reliable and flexible transport and logistics services. As a national and international freight forwarder based in Nordhorn, Dorsten and Dortmund, the company focuses on national and Europe-wide transports as well as warehousing and distribution.
With a total area of 15,500 square metres, Dorsten is one of the most important locations. Over 30,000 consignments are loaded per year and around 162,000 pallets are handled annually. National and international parcel and general cargo shipments are the core business of the Dorsten location.
