GROUND-BREAKING CEREMONY IN WEHL: CONSTRUCTION BEGINS ON A NEW TRANSHIPMENT TERMINAL
Rabelink Logistics, the Dutch company of the HUETTEMANN GROUP, has started the construction of its new freight forwarding terminal with the groundbreaking ceremony. The new facility is being built in Wehl, just a few kilometres from Rabelink’s headquarters in Doetinchem. HUETTEMANN GROUP is investing around 6.5 million euros in the new building.
The new terminal will be built in the coming months on a 23,000 square metre site. It is conveniently located directly on the A18 motorway, not far from the German border. The facility is scheduled to go into operation as early as October of this year.
Quality and innovation
“Our Dutch company Rabelink Logistics has made a name for itself with top quality and innovative transport and logistics solutions,” says Klaus Hüttemann, managing partner of the HUETTEMANN GROUP. “With the investment in the new transshipment terminal, we want to further expand this good position.”
100 metres long, 40 metres wide and seven metres high – these are the dimensions of the new terminal. A total of 46 gates for loading and unloading trucks are planned on both sides of the hall, and a separate workshop and a 1,000-square-metre office complex are also being built. This is where Rabelink will have its headquarters in the future.
Space for further growth
“We have reached the limits of capacity in the three warehouses in Doetinchem, one warehouse in Gaanderen and one in ‘s-Heerenberg,” says Rabelink managing director Alwin Schweckhorst. “With the new facility, we are creating the basis for further growth. In this context, I would like to thank the municipality of Doetinchem for the good and constructive cooperation.” In Wehl, Rabelink will be able to expand even further in the future: The company has secured an option on the 15,000 square metre neighbouring property.
