RABELINK OPENS NEW TRANSSHIPMENT TERMINAL
In January, Rabelink Logistics, the Dutch company of the HUETTEMANN GROUP, put its new forwarding terminal into operation. At the same time, the company also moved its headquarters to the new location. The HUETTEMANN GROUP invested around 6.5 million euros in the new building.
In a construction period of only seven months, the new terminal was built on a 23,000 square metre site in the village of Wehl, which belongs to the municipality of Doetinchem. It is located about seven kilometres from the previous Rabelink headquarters in Doetinchem and is conveniently situated directly on the A18 motorway, not far from the German border. “With the new building, we are strengthening our good market position as a full-service logistics provider in the region,” says Klaus Hüttemann, managing partner.
Transhipment, workshop and offices
The prerequisites for this are excellent: the forwarding terminal has 4,000 square metres of handling space and a total of 46 gates for loading and unloading trucks. A truck workshop is located in a separate building and Rabelink Logistics now has its headquarters in the approximately 1,000 square metre office complex.
The company was founded in Doetinchem in 1930 and has been part of the HUETTEMANN GROUP since 2005. Rabelink Logistics employs around 260 people. The logistics service provider has a fleet of 132 trucks and 185 trailers as well as several logistics facilities with a combined storage capacity of about 45,000 square metres and space for 70,000 pallets.
Location with a promising future
“We are working at the edge of capacity at our existing three locations in Doetinchem and the warehouses in Gaanderen and ‘s-Heerenberg,” says Rabelink managing director Alwin Schweckhorst. “With the modern facility, we now have enough space to grow further.” Rabelink Logistics is also optimally equipped for the more distant future at the new location: The company has an option on the 15,000 square metre neighbouring property.
