MERKEL – WETZEL BECOMES HUETTEMANN LOGISTIK
Duisburg/Kuppenheim, 22 March 2017. Merkel – Wetzel Logistik GmbH, based in Kuppenheim, Baden, will trade under the name HUETTEMANN Logistik GmbH with immediate effect. The background to this is the merger of the two companies belonging to the HUETTEMANN GROUP. “Through the closer integration into the HUETTEMANN GROUP we expect a positive boost for the business development”, explains the managing partner Klaus Hüttemann.
Merkel – Wetzel has already been a majority shareholder of the HUETTEMANN GROUP since the beginning of 2011. The Duisburg-based company initially took a 70 percent stake in the Baden-based company and also acquired the remaining shares in 2015. On 7 March this year, the merger to HUETTEMANN Logistik became official on 1 January 2017 with the entry in the commercial register.
With the merger, HUETTEMANN strengthens the Kuppenheim location and the associated branches in Weisenbach, Gernsbach and Wörth. “We want to streamline the organisation and standardise the processes in order to be able to act even more efficiently on the market,” explains André Manuguerra, Managing Director of HUETTEMANN Logistik GmbH. “We remain clearly focused on customers in the region, but in future we will also be able to offer supra-regional services thanks to our broad service portfolio – especially for contract logistics
solutions.”
The merger of the two HUETTEMANN companies creates ideal conditions for this: “We are integrating the company directly into the long-term strategy of the HUETTEMANN group of companies,” explains Klaus Hüttemann. “The local team can therefore now access HUETTEMANN GROUP resources even more intensively and quickly – from investments to the group’s know-how to equipment and IT.”
Crucial for the employees is the security of their jobs. “All jobs will be retained,” says André Manuguerra. “And we continue to grow: in order to realise our goals, we are looking for young, committed forwarding agents and office clerks.”
