HUETTEMANN GROWS WITH TRANSPORTS TO THE ISLANDS
Last year, the HUETTEMANN Group recorded double-digit growth rates in transports to and from Great Britain. A key success factor: the cooperation with the two British partners Knights of Old Ltd. and John G. Russell (Transport) Ltd. The three partners are now entering into a strategic alliance and will also be presenting themselves together for the first time at transport logistic in Munich. The three partners have secured exclusive rights for the contract logistics sector on the Germany – Great Britain route. “In our strategic alliance we are officially agreeing to what we already practice to a large extent today and are going one step further,” says Klaus Hüttemann, Managing Partner of the HUETTEMANN Group. “In doing so, we are taking account of the successful development and setting the course for further growth.”
Double-digit growth rates
Within the HUETTEMANN Group, the subsidiary M+F Spedition in Nordhorn, through which all transports on the Germany – Great Britain route are managed, is benefiting from this in particular. “The number of general cargo exports rose by 10 percent last year compared to 2011, and imports even increased by 28 percent,” says Norbert Louven, Managing Director of M+F Spedition.
“In the meantime, up to 20 groupage trucks with electronics, cosmetics, toys and other articles on board set off from Nordhorn every week in precisely
and accompanied by drivers throughout the journey to Great Britain and Ireland.” These include double-deck trailers, whose greater capacity allows for better utilisation of the transports.
Knights of Old Ltd. and John G. Russell
In addition to M+F Spedition’s own trucks, vehicles from partners Knights of Old and John G. Russell are also used. John G. Russell is the second largest logistics service provider in Scotland and distributes the consignments of M+F Spedition in Scotland. Knights of Old – as one of the largest owner-operated logistics companies in Central England – distributes the goods in the rest of the UK and Ireland. In addition, the partner uses the network of the transport cooperation Partnerlink. In return, M+F Spedition takes over the delivery of the shipments from Great Britain and Ireland in Germany.
“Thanks to the dense networks of our partners and the frequent departures, we can deliver every consignment from Germany to Great Britain and Ireland within 48 hours,” says Louven. “If desired, also in predefined time windows. “A continuous track & trace system and delivery receipts that can be called up online are standard.
Over 100,000 parcels
In addition to groupage services, M+F Spedition also offers comprehensive part-load and full-load services in the UK and Ireland, and even nationwide parcel distribution in cooperation with a British parcel service. Last year alone, M+F Spedition delivered more than 100,000 parcels on the islands. “The Great Britain and Ireland transports are a success project from which the customers also benefit,” says Klaus Hüttemann. “Our customers can rely on logistics companies that have the best possible local knowledge and, thanks to well-established partnerships, get the consignments to their destinations quickly and reliably.
destinations quickly and reliably. Due to the high satisfaction of our customers, I assume that the volume of consignments will continue to increase in the future.”
Note: Under the motto “Logistics3”, the three partners will be presenting themselves to the trade public at transport logistic from 4 to 7 June: Hall B5 at Stand 217. “I cordially invite all customers and interested parties to visit us in Hall B5 at Stand 217!” says Klaus Hüttemann.
