ANDRÉ MANUGUERRA IS THE NEW MANAGING DIRECTOR AT MERKEL-WETZEL
The HUETTEMANN Group has reorganised the management of its company Merkel-Wetzel Logistik GmbH and appointed André Manuguerra as the new Managing Director. The 51-year-old now directs the fortunes of the Baden logistics service provider together with Hans-Jörg Wetzel.
With André Manuguerra, Merkel-Wetzel has strengthened itself with an experienced logistics professional who has already been working for the HUETTEMANN Group for over 25 years. He completed his training as a forwarding agent at M+F Spedition in Nordhorn, which was taken over by the HUETTEMANN Group in 1988. In 1996 André Manuguerra was appointed to the management of a HUETTEMANN company for the first time – at Knoche & Barth Paketlogistik GmbH, then German Parcel Depot 71, in Heilbronn.
After further stops in Hanover and Hamburg, he was active in the Duisburg headquarters of the HUETTEMANN Group from 2007. Here André Manuguerra was most recently responsible for company-wide contract logistics projects, sales, marketing and advertising as well as the group’s northern German locations.
At Merkel-Wetzel he takes over the responsibilities of Hermann P. Merkel, who retired from active management at the end of last year.
As Managing Director of Merkel-Wetzel, André Manuguerra is responsible for commercial management, sales and contract logistics. He carries out his activities from the company headquarters in Kuppenheim near Baden Baden. “We want to use the regional strength of the company, establish ourselves further and open up new business fields in our service areas of freight forwarding and contract logistics,” says André Manuguerra.
