HUETTEMANN TAKES OVER LOGISTICS AND FORWARDING BUSINESS FROM DELOG
The HUETTEMANN GROUP, headquartered in Duisburg, has taken over the contract logistics and forwarding business of delog delsing logistik-spedition GmbH and all 25 employees of the two locations in Dorsten and Dortmund as part of an asset deal with effect from 1 January 2015. Both parties agreed not to disclose the costs of the transaction.
“With this transaction, we are further expanding our service areas of contract logistics and freight forwarding. At the same time, we are strengthening our presence in North Rhine-Westphalia,” explains Klaus Hüttemann, managing partner of the HUETTEMANN GROUP. The portfolio of the newly acquired locations is broadly diversified in the consumer and capital goods sector and also includes value-added services.
The company delog delsing logistik-spedition GmbH was founded more than 80 years ago as Spedition Delsing. Today, it has a total capacity of around 8,000 square metres of racked warehouse space and 10,000 square metres of yard space. In addition, there is an expansion area of about 30,000 square metres.
Familiar name remains
The contract logistics and forwarding activities of delog delsing logistik-spedition GmbH were taken over by HUETTEMANN Gesellschaft SÜD-WEST Air Sea Logistics GmbH & Co. KG. Following the takeover, it now trades as delog HUETTEMANN GmbH & Co. KG. This means that the regionally well-known name delog will continue to exist in the future. Oliver Serfas as authorised signatory and branch manager and the managing director Manfred Köhler are responsible for the Dorsten location. Both have been working for HUETTEMANN GROUP as branch managers and managing directors for a long time.
The previous owner Hans Delsing remains managing partner of delog delsing logistik-spedition GmbH and is responsible for the remaining fleet business in the renamed delsing transporte GmbH. Hans Delsing will continue to support the HUETTEMANN GROUP with the fleet and in an advisory capacity. “As the owner of a medium-sized company, I had to think about the seamless continuation of the business at an early stage,” says Hans Delsing. “With the entrepreneurial commitment of the HUETTEMANN GROUP, we have found a promising path for the future for everyone involved.”
Expansion of business planned
In the coming months HUETTEMANN plans to integrate the new locations into the existing structures of the group of companies. Klaus Hüttemann: “Together we now want to further expand the business and leverage synergies within the HUETTEMANN GROUP.
