NEW LOGISTICS TERMINAL OPENED

Nordhorn/Gildehaus, 25 August 2016: In mid-August, M + F Spedition opened its new logistics terminal. The Toy Distribution Center 9 is located in Gildehaus near Bad Bentheim. M + F Spedition already operates as one of the largest toy logistics centres in Europe in nearby Nordhorn. With the new building, the HUETTEMANN subsidiary has now almost doubled its capacities in this area.

Whether board game or baby doll, Spiderman or stuffed animal: more than eight million toys from around 90 different toy manufacturers are shipped by M + F Spedition every year. It was only in 2014 that the company expanded its logistics facility at its headquarters in Nordhorn, where the Toy Distribution Centres (TDC) 1 to 8.

Optimal growth conditions
TDC 9 was built in Gildehaus, just 15 kilometres away. It has 11,500 square metres of warehouse and order-picking space, a total of nine loading and unloading gates and a modern office building. The official second location of M + F Spedition is fully integrated into the IT structure of the HUETTEMANN GROUP and is also equipped with high quality security and monitoring technology. The logistics service provider has hired eight new employees for the operation of the terminal. A total of 20 employees are now working in Gildehaus.

Location with a future
“In the past few years we have grown strongly, especially in the area of toy logistics,” says Çetin Çelik, Managing Director of M + F Spedition. “The enables us to offer our customers the best possible service in the future as well.” The terminal that has now opened will benefit well-known toy manufacturers, including the current new customers JAKKS Pacific Germany and MTW Toys Germany, which sell well-known licensed goods such as Star Wars or Minions products. As in the existing logistics centre in Nordhorn, M + F Spedition is also responsible for import processing at TDC 9, sorting, storage, commissioning and worldwide distribution of the incoming toys.

“We are very pleased about the punctual completion of the new logistics centre on time,” adds Çetin Çelik. “In just a few weeks, the Christmas business – the peak season for toys. We are also well prepared thanks to the new location and will easily master this this challenge with ease.”
