Groundbreaking ceremony in the Dutch town of Wehl: Construction of new transshipment terminal begins
Rabelink Logistics, the Dutch subsidiary of the HUETTEMANN GROUP, has begun construction of its new forwarding terminal. The new facility is being built in Wehl, just a few kilometres from Rabelink’s headquarters in Doetinchem. The HUETTEMANN GROUP is investing around 6.5 million euros in the new building.
The new terminal will be built over the coming months on a 23,000 square-metre-sized plot of land. It is conveniently located just off the A18 motorway near the German border. The facility will go into operation in October of this year.
Quality and innovation
“Our Dutch subsidiary Rabelink Logistics has made a name for itself with top quality and innovative transportation and logistics solutions”, says Klaus Hüttemann, Managing Partner of the HUETTEMANN GROUP. “By investing in the new transshipment terminal, we want to consolidate our position even further.”
The new terminal will be 100 metres long, 40 metres wide and seven metres high. On both sides of the hall there will be a total of 46 gates for loading and unloading trucks, and a separate workshop and 1,000-square-metre office complex are also being built. In the future, Rabelink will be based here.
Space for further growth
“We have reached our capacity limits in the three warehouses in Doetinchem, the warehouse in Gaanderen and the one in ’s-Heerenberg”, says Rabelink Managing Director Alwin Schweckhorst. “With the new facility we are creating the basis for further growth. In this regard, I would like to express my gratitude for the good and constructive cooperation with the town of Doetinchem.” In Wehl, Rabelink can expand further in the future: the company has already secured an option on the adjacent 15,000-square-metre site.
